8 Days in June

A summer music festival from the DSO • June 2009

The third annual festival programming encompasses classical, chamber and jazz music
as well as drama, spoken word, film, lectures and visual art.

The Program Guide for 8 Days in June offers a unique advertising opportunity to reach an energetic audience in the metro Detroit community for this ground-breaking music festival.

The 3rd annual 8 Days in June festival takes place in June 2009 inside the Max M. Fisher Music Center, home of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, which includes the historic and accoustically-superb Orchestra Hall as well as newer intimate performance spaces and modern amenities. The music festival attracts young, civic-minded professionals who have the means and desire to enjoy the Detroit area’s cultural gems, and who realize that the music-making of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra can have a positive influence on the lives of people throughout the world.

The program guide for 8 Days in June is as unique as the festival itself. The program guide’s format intentionally casts aside traditional glossy paper and flashy colors, replaced with a unique size, black ink, matte finished paper and a progressive design style found more commonly in an alternative weekly newspaper than in a front-row seat at Orchestra Hall. Printed samples of the 2008 program guides are available for interested advertisers.
