Reach Metro Detroit's Best Families!

The 2008-09 season marks the 3rd year of Protégé as the magazine program guide for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Education programs. Protégé is handed out at all DSO Youth Ensemble concerts as well as the DSO’s Young People’s Concerts. Protégé is a great advertising opportunity — allowing you to reach a loyal audience with strong family values and an affinity for the arts. Your advertising dollars benefit the DSO’s outstanding music education program and showcases your support for one of our community’s treasures.

DSO Youth Ensemble concerts in 2008-09 will be presented in Orchestra Hall and the Max M. Fisher Music Center. Music-lovers will be treated to a festive evening to enjoy the music-making of three different youth ensembles.

Young People’s Concerts with the DSO include 6 exciting performances throughout the 2008-09 season featuring the musicians of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. These concerts give children ages 4–11 and their families a rare opportunity to be introduced to classical music and world-class musicians. As an added bonus to the audience and Protégé advertisers, Leonard Slatkin, the DSO’s new music director, will conduct two YPC concerts featuring the Civic Orchestra for these very special events!

A new format for the 2008-09 season places the Civic Jazz Orchestra concerts immediately following the DSO’s Paradise Jazz Series for full night of jazz — drawing a larger audience and more readers to Protégé!

Protégé magazine showcases the talent and aspiration of gifted young musicians as they experience Michigan’s most comprehensive pre-professional training program of it’s kind. Protégé includes stories about the DSO’s Education Program, youth musicians’ achievements and biographies, world-famous guest artists, news, upcoming events, program information for each concert, and much more!
